Shipping & Returns
All orders are processed within 2 to 5 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped. Supply and delivery issues may adversely affect delivery times, in which case the East gate Bookshop Ltd will endeavor to keep you informed.
Domestic Shipping Rates and Estimates
Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout and are dependent on the Royal Mail Service you choose. Subscription prices are inclusive of shipping.
Free local delivery is available for orders within Totnes and Bridgetown.
We will contact you via text message with the phone number you provided at checkout to notify you when your purchase will arrive.
You can also skip the shipping fees with free local pickup at our Totnes shop. After placing your order and selecting local pickup at checkout, your order will be prepared and ready for pick up within 1 to 2 business days. We will send you an email when your order is ready along with instructions.
Our in-store pickup hours are 9:30am - 5pm Monday to Saturday and 11am - 3pm Sunday. Please have your order confirmation email with you when you come.
We do not offer international shipping routinely however if you have a special request please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Your order may then be subject to import duties and taxes (including VAT), which are incurred once a shipment reaches your destination country. The East Gate Bookshop Ltd is not responsible for these charges if they are applied and are your responsibility as the customer.
How do I check the status of my order?
When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us. If you haven’t received your order within 5 days business days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us at email@example.com with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you.
Shipping to P.O. boxes
We do not ship to P.O. Boxes.
Refunds, returns, and exchanges
If you’re looking to return or exchange your order for whatever reason, we’re here to help. We offer free returns within 30 days of purchase. You can return your product for shop credit, a different product, or a refund to the original payment method.
Please note the following exceptions to our return and refund policy:
- Returned items must have tags still on and be returned in original product packaging.
- Returned items must be unread and/or have no visible signs of wear or use.
- Purchases of Book Tokens cannot be refunded.
To initiate a return, please reply to your order confirmation email to request which products you would like to return. We will then contact you to arrange the return.
We will process your refund on the day we receive your returned product. You will be liable for any shipping fees unless your order arrived damaged.
In the event that your order arrives damaged in any way, please email us as soon as possible at firstname.lastname@example.org with your order number and a photo of the item’s condition. We address these on a case-by-case basis but will try our best to work towards a satisfactory solution.
